Ya know it's weird... when people say "punk" I think of the Exploited, Black Flag, the Dead Kennedys, the Ramones... but the bands people call punk nowadays... I just don't get it. I saw a video to some band... I can't even remember their name, but the song was about some wedding or something and in the video these "emo" guys crash the wedding with some Marilyn Manson wanna-bes and it looked like a nightmarish trip through Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The song and video were listed as punk. I was like "WHAT? PUNK?!?!? THIS CRAP?!?!?!"

Man, I remember going to local punk concerts, slam-dancing (wasn't called moshing then), and all that stuff. It was great! The scene has definitely been taken over by undesirable elements.

Yeah man. Shit I listen to Anarcho\Crust\Peace punk,hardcore,Straight Edge ect... Discharge,The Locust,Look Back And Laugh,Teen Idles,Avskum,Econochrist,Neon Christ,DropDead,Crass,Minor Threat Spitting Teeth,Vitamin X,Socialized Crucifixion,ProudFleash,Resistant Culture,Phobia,Rotting Stiffs,Resist and Exist,Thusla Doom ectect..
Not the mainstream punk.

Damn skippy! Funny how people get those confused. The one on the right seems more like the Goths not Punk. Or maybe that's just me?

But those people call themselves Hardcore and need to stop because its ruining underground music. Hardcore is not about wearing makeup,tight jeans to show off or crying. Its was about and still is about uniting with others because society looked down upon them,bout being angry at society,and having fun.

Down boy I'm on your side. I understand how you feel. From my point of view some of the young Goths these days lack the class and sofistication of their older counterparts. It's sadd really. "Sigh" what do you expect for an age when they can't even get the clasifications for music right. Sadd really. Some people wouldn't know punk from speed metal.
